    AMLS @ Lime Rock

On Saturday i went with JP and Lauren's dad to the American Le Mans races at Lime Rock. It was a great day with beautifull weather and amazing cars.
I took some nice pictures of my little boy in a Formula Dodge from Skip Barber and a go kart of endurance karting. The atmosphere at the event is very friendly and open. you can walk right between the races kars and talk to drivers and mechanics alike. JP talked to some drivers and mechanics and even managed to give them advice: to the mom of a driver who had had an accident in the first corner of his race he explained that the driver should be "more carefull"

Beside the pictures I took in the pits I took also some great pictures of a the feature race (the ALMS race).
The only disappointing item wrt photos was that the so-called professional photographers only seemed to excel at spoling other peoples shots by standing in the way. They rarely took pictures and often they missed the action because they just werent ready (I have pictures of a a pro slowly getting his gear ready when an accident happens right in front of him)

I also ran into Greg Fohrdal of Alex Job Racing; I know Greg from my autox days in Seattle where Greg is really active. Greg is an amazing porsche engineer and he is one of the best of not the best setup guy for porsche race cars. JP was allowed to look into the 23 car and he even asked a few questions to one of the team members.

When the pictures upload mechamism in spaces works again with Vista Beta2 I will upload some pictures

The miata is at the shop to get prepared for autox

I brought the miata to the shop this morning so the shocks, swaybar can get mounted on the car

Kurt from Phoenix Auto Center in Palm PA looked over the car to see what need to be fixed further to make the car legal in SCCA CS.

It appears that the car has headers installed (this shows how little I know about the working of the car). It also has a front tower strut that needs to come out and a non-stock air-clearner (I already knew that)

I will finalize a parts list to fix these items this week and order them from Mazda Motorsports.

    Slowly the car gets there...

    Got the parts

I finally got the parts to build my '99 Miata sport into a competitive CS car. I got the following parts:

    • kuhmo tires
    • koni shocks (yellows)
    • racing beat hollow swaybar
    • links for the sway bar

I still need to get some leightweight wheels. I am considering the Volk CE28 15x6 (supposedly 6.5 pounds)
